Recruitment of New ACA President and CEO Moves Forward

Hired executive search firm, selection committee appointed

PHOENIX, AZ (March 2, 2012)  The Arizona Commerce Authority today announced it selected DHR International to conduct its nationwide search for a new president and CEO. In addition, Governor Jan Brewer has appointed a six-member selection committee, which will work directly with DHR International to recruit, interview and ultimately make a candidate recommendation to the Governor and ACA Co-Chair Jerry Colangelo. In January, current president and CEO Don Cardon announced he would transition out of the role to return to his personal businesses.

DHR International was selected following the issuance of an RFP for executive search firms. DHR International is the fifth-largest executive search firm in the nation, with 21 years of experience in recruiting and hiring top level executives.

“I applaud the Arizona Commerce Authority for its swift and careful selection of DHR International to lead this important search effort,” said Governor Brewer. “DHR is nationally-recognized and has the expertise necessary to identify the most qualified candidates who are capable of leading Arizona’s effort to compete for new jobs and economic development. I’m confident that with the work of DHR

International and the ACA selection committee, we’ll find the candidate best- suited to lead the Arizona Commerce Authority.”

“DHR International is proud and excited to assist the ACA and the state of Arizona in its nationwide search for a new president and CEO,” said David Bruno, senior client partner and managing director of DHR International. “We stand ready to identify the best leader for this important organization and help advance Arizona’s global mission.”

The ACA selection committee, appointed by Governor Brewer, is made up of the following members:

Don Cardon

Gary Abrams

Roy Vallee

Drew Brown

Mary Peters

Eileen Klein

DHR International will begin its nationwide search of the position and will conduct interviews of candidates in the coming weeks. A final decision on the president and CEO is expected in May.
