Zivelo Expands, Brings Jobs to Arizona

Fast-growing, Inc. 5000 tech company brings 70+ jobs to Scottsdale

PHOENIX, AZ (December 4, 2013) – ZIVELO, a kiosk and digital signage manufacturing company based in Marion, Ind., is expanding its company profile by moving its corporate headquarters to Scottsdale, Ariz. The five-year-old company, recognized as one of the fastest growing tech companies in the U.S. by both Inc. and Forbes, plans to add at least 70 jobs to the Phoenix metro market when it moves into a 13,000-square-foot space at Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale this January.

Ziver Birg, CEO of ZIVELO, is a self-taught serial entrepreneur that was raised in Scottsdale and attended Arizona State University. In 2012, Birg was inducted to Inc. magazine’s “30 Under 30 List” of top young entrepreneurs and was recognized by Forbes as a “Top 10 Young Entrepreneur Creating Jobs”. Birg was also recognized at the White House by the Kauffman Foundation as an Empact 100 honoree, a list that names the top 100 entrepreneurs under the age of 30 in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2013, ZIVELO ranked 697th on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing privately held companies in the US.

The new Scottsdale location will become the company’s corporate headquarters. ZIVELO has additional presence in Los Angeles, Denver and Philadelphia, with its manufacturing headquarters located in Marion, Ind. This location, which will be housed within Fashion Square Mall, will be open to the public by appointment only.

“The decision to relocate ZIVELO’s headquarters to Scottsdale has been in the works for some time now and we’re very happy that we’re finally able to make the official announcement,” says Ziver Birg, CEO of ZIVELO. “While I’ve lived all over the country, Scottsdale has always been my home. The City of Scottsdale, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and the Arizona Commerce Authority have welcomed us with open arms. Our experience with them has been nothing less than first class.”

Downtown Scottsdale has seen significant interest from entrepreneurial technology companies in recent years, due to its appeal to young professionals seeking an urban environment with easy access to entertainment, employment and housing. In fact, while the current median age of residents in Scottsdale is 44, the median age in Downtown Scottsdale is only 32.

“Downtown Scottsdale has emerged as the premier place for tech companies looking for a unique work environment,” said Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane. “It is exciting to see a company like ZIVELO choose a nontraditional space in the downtown area and we could not be more excited to welcome them.”

“Scottsdale continues to attract global brands and top innovators seeking a platform to expand their operations to new markets, and its leadership has distinguished the city as a world-class environment for business growth,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO, Arizona Commerce Authority. “ZIVELO’s expansion echoes a larger trend of technology-driven companies choosing Arizona – from innovative startups to industry icons – that are expanding here to leverage our state’s competitive cost of doing business, proximity to some of the world’s top economies, as well as its highly skilled and available tech talent to help propel their corporate success.”

“Scottsdale’s quality of life, outstanding culture and young talent were all extremely conducive to what ZIVELO was looking for in a location,” GPEC President and CEO Barry Broome said. “ZIVELO’s decision to expand to Scottsdale is a testament to the hard work of Mayor Lane, his entire economic development team, and Macerich, who found a great office space for the company.  I have no doubt ZIVELO will greatly contribute to Scottsdale’s well-deserved reputation for being a magnet for startups and fast-growing technology companies.”
