Bridging the Digital Divide
In Arizona, broadband deployment is a top priority. The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) has brought together state and local governments, nonprofit organizations and the private sector to maximize strategic broadband funding. The state’s broadband initiatives are working to close the digital divide for unserved and underserved communities across the state.
Broadband Equity, Access & Deployment Program
Arizona’s Broadband Equity, Access & Deployment Program is the largest broadband investment in the state’s history with the principal objective of universal broadband for all. This program targets unserved and underserved households to improve connectivity, support economic growth, enhance education and improve health care access throughout Arizona.

Arizona’s Digital Equity Program promotes digital equity and inclusion to ensure that all people and communities have access to affordable, reliable internet and the skills, technology and capacity needed to reap the full benefits of today’s digital economy.
Arizona Broadband Development Grant Program
The Arizona Broadband Development Grant Program expands high-speed internet access across the state. By funding infrastructure projects in Arizona’s unserved and underserved areas, this program aims to improve connectivity, support economic development, and enhance education and health care services.
Arizona Statewide Middle-Mile Program
The Arizona Statewide Middle-Mile Program focuses on developing critical infrastructure needed to connect local networks to larger, high-capacity national and global internet backbones. This program aims to enhance broadband access to unserved and underserved areas by improving the middle segment of the network, which links local providers to major internet hubs.
Arizona Rural Broadband Development Grant
The Arizona Rural Broadband Development Grant was used to accelerate the enhancement of broadband infrastructure to support economic growth and improve the quality of life for Arizona’s rural residents. The grant awards were allocated in two separate categories: development grants and planning grants.
