New Census Bureau Figures Report Record Year for Arizona Exports
PHOENIX, AZ (February 5, 2016) — Preliminary data released this morning by the U.S. Census Bureau notes that Arizona's 2015 exports were $22.56 billion, representing Arizona's largest export year in recorded history. Additionally, Arizona exports were 6.2% higher than 2014, making it the 4th fastest growing export economy in the U.S.
“These impressive trade figures are further evidence that Arizona is open for business” said Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. “Building mutually beneficial relationships with our global partners to increase trade is a key part of my agenda, and this data indicates that we are making excellent progress in advancing our state’s international presence.”
“This new export data emphasizes Arizona’s strength as a competitor in the global economy and the success of Governor Ducey’s ambitious trade agenda,” said Sandra Watson, Arizona Commerce Authority President & CEO. “We will continue working tirelessly to capitalize on opportunities with our international partners to ensure the success of Arizona businesses both at home and abroad.”
