Evie Networks To Establish North American Headquarters In Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (July 18, 2023) – Evie Networks, a leading Australian electric vehicle fast-charging company, has selected Phoenix, Arizona as the site of its North American headquarters.
Evie Networks will establish electric vehicle charging stations across Arizona and expects to have its first U.S. sites up and running within 18 months. The new charging stations will be strategically located in places where customers work, live and play. The U.S. market expansion, backed by Brisbane-based St Baker Energy Innovation Fund, will allow both companies to expand their reach and create new jobs over time.
“By expanding our operations in the United States, Evie Networks aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and improve the sustainability of the transportation sector in the U.S.,’’ said Chris Mills, Evie Network’s Managing Director.
“We are excited to see innovative Australian company like Evie Networks providing jobs on the other side of the globe,’’ said Chris Hay, St Baker Energy Innovation Fund Managing Partner. “Their arrival in Phoenix represents not only an investment in the local economy but also a significant step forward in the global movement towards sustainable energy practices.’’
Evie Networks was founded in 2017 to build Australia’s largest electric vehicle fast-charging network and give electric vehicle owners across the country the freedom to travel anywhere. The company has more than 350 sites in build and development in Australia. It plans to replicate its successful Australian model in the US by targeting sites where people work, live and play, as the share of electric vehicles in the country is expected to dramatically expand over the next few years. Its open-access format allows other charger owners to join the network.
“Evie Networks' new headquarters showcase Arizona’s international attractiveness,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “We are proud to welcome this sustainable leader to Arizona as part of our thriving electric vehicle industry.”
“Phoenix continues to lead the nation with a burgeoning ecosystem embracing the success of the electric vehicle future,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “Australia-based Evie’s North American headquarters continues the momentum we’re experiencing in the ‘Electric Valley.' We are pleased to welcome Evie to Phoenix, and our teams stand ready to support a strong trajectory.”
Evie Networks joins Australian companies like Arizona Lithium, which announced plans in 2022 to open an advanced research and processing facility in Tempe, creating hundreds of jobs.
