Rehrig Pacific Opens State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility In Buckeye

Sunlit Chemical Expands Global Reach with U.S. Facility Grand Opening In Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (October 23, 2024) – Sunlit Fluo & Chemical Co. Ltd., Taiwan’s premier semiconductor chemical supplier, is expanding its international footprint with the grand opening of its first manufacturing facility outside of Asia – Sunlit Arizona, LLC. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the plant will provide critical materials to support the U.S. semiconductor industry. Nucleus RadioPharma Announces New Manufacturing Site In Mesa

MESA, AZ (October 21, 2024) — Nucleus RadioPharma, the world’s first fully integrated development, manufacturing, and supply chain organization for radiopharmaceuticals, today announced that it has signed a lease and committed to build a new manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona. Arizona Commerce Authority Announces Semifinalists For The 2024 Arizona Innovation Challenge

Blue Polymers Breaks Ground On Recycled Plastics Production Facility In Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ (September 25, 2024) — Today, leaders from Blue Polymers, LLC; Republic Services (NYSE: RSG); the Arizona Commerce Authority and the City of Buckeye broke ground on Blue Polymers’ newest innovative recycled plastics production facility, which will support sustainable packaging manufacturing across the Western United States. The 162,000-square-foot facility is expected to create more than 60 highly skilled permanent local jobs when it opens in Buckeye in the second half of 2025. The Blue Polymers facility will specialize in recycled polyethylene, commonly found in milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles, and polypropylene, used in consumer packaging like margarine tubs and yogurt cups. These plastics will be processed and formulated into high-quality, drop-in solutions for the packaging industry.

Governor Hobbs Announces Nearly $8 Million to Support Arizona Small Businesses

PHOENIX, AZ (September 17, 2024) – Today, Governor Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Commerce Authority announced Arizona will receive a $7.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury as part of their State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Investing in America Small Business Opportunity Program (SBOP). Tricolor Opens State-of-the-Art Automotive Reconditioning Facility In Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ (September 4, 2024) – Tricolor, the third largest used automotive retailer in California and Texas and the largest in the country focused on addressing the needs of underserved Hispanic consumers, today unveiled its newest state-of-the-art mega reconditioning center in Surprise, Arizona. Arizona Commerce Authority Leads Delegation Visit To Taiwan

PHOENIX, AZ (September 3, 2024) – To further strengthen economic and trade ties, the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) is leading a delegation of more than 30 Arizona businesses, academia, and community leaders on an economic trade visit to Taiwan. The group delegation visit, which is taking place through September 6, 2024, features a packed schedule including meetings with Taiwan-based businesses and advancing partnerships in high-tech sectors such as semiconductors and bioscience. On Monday, the ACA hosted an “Arizona Forum” through the Arizona-Taiwan Trade and Investment Office. The event, which drew more than 120 attendees from local companies and governments, featured panel discussions and presentations highlighting Arizona’s workforce and business advantages. The group later toured Taipei Neihu Technology Park, Taiwan’s largest science park.

KoMiCo To Establish Semiconductor Equipment Cleaning and Coating Facility In Mesa

MESA, AZ (August, 20, 2024) – KoMiCo, a global leader in precision cleaning and advanced coatings in the semiconductor industry, today signed a purchase agreement to develop a state-of-the-art facility for advanced semiconductor equipment parts cleaning, coating, and repair in Mesa, Arizona.  The facility is expected to be operational by 2026, creating over 200 new jobs. Setnix, A Setna.iO Company, Announces Major Expansion In Tempe

TEMPE, AZ (August 6, 2024) – Setna iO, a global aftermarket aircraft part supplier, and its sister company Setnix, a premier MRO repair station, today announced the expansion of its aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operations with the acquisition of a new facility in Tempe, Arizona. Governor Katie Hobbs Announces Major Update in Deployment of Federal Broadband Dollars

ACA Supercharges Support For Arizona Startups

PHOENIX, AZ (August 1, 2024) — The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) announced today plans to scale the highly successful Arizona Innovation Challenge program, helping more Arizona startups find success. Through three new and enhanced venture programs, known as Venture Scale, Venture Raise, and Venture Start, the ACA will extend more one-on-one support to Arizona startups that participate in the Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC), a program of the ACA and one of the nation’s largest business plan competitions. Starting today, the ACA is accepting applications for the 15th annual Arizona Innovation Challenge. The application window will run from August 1 to August 30.

Arizona Sets Records Again For Economic Development

PHOENIX, AZ (July 30, 2024) – Arizona economic development efforts continued to set a new standard of excellence and build on the state’s economic momentum in Fiscal Year 2024 (FY 24). In the 12-month fiscal period that ended on June 30, 2024, the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) and local economic development agencies successfully worked with companies that committed to creating a projected 24,251 new Arizona jobs with an average wage of $75,701. Those companies also committed to investing more than $50 billion in local communities – setting records for jobs, capital investment and wages. The ACA’s Fiscal Year 2024 results represent 121 percent of the ACA’s annual projected jobs goal, 128 percent of its wages goal, and 1,250 percent of its projected capital investment goal. The fiscal year also saw substantial wins for workforce development, startup growth, supply chain enhancements, rural business expansions and more.

Amkor and U.S. Department of Commerce Announce Up To $400 Million In Proposed Direct Funding Through The CHIPS Act

TEMPE, AZ (July 26, 2024) – Amkor Technology, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and test services, announced today it has signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms with the U.S. Department of Commerce to receive up to $400 million in proposed funding as part of the CHIPS and Science Act. Amkor announced in November 2023 its plans to build its first domestic OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) facility in Peoria, Arizona. Amkor plans to invest approximately $2 billion and employ approximately 2,000 people at the new facility. Upon completion, the Peoria facility will be the largest outsourced advanced packaging and test facility in the United States. Amkor has secured approximately 55 acres to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing campus with over 500,000-square-feet of clean room space. The first phase of the manufacturing facility is expected to be ready for production within three years.

Intel Launches First U.S. Apprenticeship Program for Manufacturing Facility Technicians

PHOENIX, AZ (July 15, 2024) – Today, Intel and Governor Hobbs announced the company is launching its first U.S. registered apprenticeship program for manufacturing facility technicians in collaboration with the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), SEMI Foundation, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, Maricopa Community Colleges, and the Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Board. Intel plans to train dozens of facility technician apprentices over the next five years. Selected apprentices will be full-time Intel employees on day one and will earn a certificate and college credit upon successful completion of the one-year program. Apprenticeships offer a practical and effective way to train individuals for these roles. Apprentices gain valuable skills, experience and industry-specific knowledge, contributing to a more skilled and competitive workforce.

Mohave Community College Breaks Ground On Future48 Workforce Accelerator In Kingman

KINGMAN, AZ (June 18, 2024) – Mohave Community College (MCC) launched a new era for the college and the region today with a groundbreaking ceremony for the Future48 Workforce Accelerator, the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (AMTC) in Kingman, Arizona. The event took place at the future home of the AMTC at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park. CarbonCapture Inc. Secures Lease For World’s First Direct Air Capture Manufacturing Facility In Mesa

MESA, AZ (June 6, 2024) — CarbonCapture Inc. (CarbonCapture) a leading U.S. direct air capture (DAC) system company that builds modular systems that can be mass produced, today announced the signing of a  lease for its first manufacturing site — an 83,000-square-foot high-volume manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona. At full capacity, the facility is projected to manufacture 4,000 modules per year — equal to two megatons of carbon dioxide removal capacity. After a nationwide search, the site was chosen due to its central location, availability of clean energy, and workforce readiness. The facility will employ 30 full time hires growing to an expected 400 total by 2029. The facility will be located at 3437 S. Crismon Road in Mesa’s Elliot Road Technology Corridor.

Arizona Lithium Officially Opens World Class Lithium Research Center In Tempe

TEMPE, AZ (May 31, 2024) – Arizona Lithium Limited, a company focused on the sustainable development of two large lithium development projects in North America, the Big Sandy Lithium Project (“Big Sandy”) and the Prairie Lithium Project (“Prairie”), today held an official grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony of the Lithium Research Center in Tempe, Arizona. Kohler Co. Unveils State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility In Casa Grande

ACA Launches New Tools To Support Arizona Small Businesses

Fortescue Launches Its First U.S. Green Hydrogen Production Facility In Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ (May 2, 2024) – Fortescue marked a new phase in the development of the company’s $550 million venture into green hydrogen production in the United States, the first of Fortescue’s planned green energy investments in North America with a soil turn ceremony on May 2 and renaming of its green hydrogen facility in Buckeye, Arizona to Arizona Hydrogen. The new facility is expected to be operational in 2026, creating 40 new direct jobs and is slated to produce up to 11,000 tons of liquid green hydrogen annually.

How The Small Business Boot Camp Bolsters Arizona’s Small Business Community

PHOENIX, AZ (April 29, 2024) – The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) celebrated the fourth anniversary of the Small Business Boot Camp, an award-winning program that connects entrepreneurs and small business leaders with local experts who provide support, guidance and resources through free weekly, educational webinars. Effort To Expand Broadband In Rural Areas Takes Big Step Forward

PHOENIX, AZ (April 24, 2024) – The state’s goal of expanding broadband internet access in rural areas is taking a big step forward with a public-private partnership. The agreement with eX² Technology is to operate, maintain and lease space in fiber-optic conduit installed along Interstate 17 and Interstate 19, and being installed later this year along much of Interstate 40. The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with Governor Katie Hobbs and the Arizona Commerce Authority, entered into the agreement recently with eX² Technology. 

Navajo County and eX² Technology Celebrate Groundbreaking Of Middle-Mile Network To Expand Broadband

NAVAJO COUNTY, AZ (April 23, 2024) – Navajo County Board of Supervisors and eX² Technology joined together with Governor Hobbs and local leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking and construction of a more than 100-mile open-access, dark fiber middle-mile network infrastructure to expand broadband throughout Navajo County, Arizona. The network will help Navajo County sustain the broadband capacity to support municipal fiber, telehealth, education, and Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) for homes and businesses.

LG Energy Solution’s $5.5 Billion Stand-Alone Battery Manufacturing Complex In Queen Creek Well Underway

QUEEN CREEK, AZ (April 3, 2024) – The construction of a major battery manufacturing complex in Queen Creek, Arizona, announced by LG Energy Solution last year, is on track to be completed in two years with the first round of hiring expected to begin at the end of this year. The company provided progress updates on its $5.5 billion stand-alone facility during a stakeholder meeting today at Combs High School in San Tan Valley near the complex location. With steel beams now being placed at the site, the complex is on track to be completed in  2026 and creating several thousand new jobs.

Arizona Exports Break New Records

PHOENIX, AZ (April 1, 2024) – Arizona companies exported a record amount of goods in 2023, Governor Hobbs announced in her International State of the State address. Exports grew to $28.79 billion in 2023, a 5.5% increase ($1.5 billion) over the previous year. Arizona’s growth bucks the trend for the U.S., which saw exports decrease by 2.2% in 2023. Arizona’s top export countries in 2023 included Mexico ($8 billion), Canada ($2.7 billion), the Netherlands ($1.7 billion), China ($1.6 billion), and the United Kingdom ($1.4 billion).

Ascent Aviation Services Breaks Ground At Pinal Airpark For Two New Wide-Body Aircraft Hangars In Marana

Fortescue Future Industries Makes Major Investment In American Green Energy Jobs With Purchase Of Phoenix Hydrogen Hub

BUCKEYE, AZ (July 20, 2023) – Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has made its first major move in the United States following the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, investing $24 million to acquire a 100 percent interest in Phoenix Hydrogen Hub, LLC (PHH). PHH is developing a proposed green hydrogen project located  Buckeye, Arizona. Phase One of the PHH project will be capable of producing up to 12,000 tonnes of liquified green hydrogen annually, which can displace the equivalent of 10 million gallons of diesel consumption per year.

Governor Ducey, TSMC Mark Major Milestone at the Most Technologically Advanced Chip Factory in the U.S.

PHOENIX, AZ (December 6, 2022) — Governor Doug Ducey and TSMC celebrated the first piece of equipment added to one of the most technologically advanced chip factories in the world. If the years-long effort to bring the high-tech chip manufacturing operation to Arizona wasn’t already the “deal of the decade,” TSMC’s announcement that it would add a second fab, invest a total of $40 billion and create 4,500 jobs at its Arizona operations certainly seals the deal. The facility will utilize TSMC’s 4-nanometer technology for semiconductor wafer fabrication. The second, newly announced fab, will be equipped for 3 nanometer production by 2026. American Battery Factory Selects Tucson As Site For Its First Battery Cell Gigafactory In United States

TUCSON, AZ (December 6, 2022) — Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Paul Charles, President and CEO of American Battery Factory (ABF), today announced that Tucson, Arizona has been selected as the site for the first in a planned series of battery cell gigafactories based in the United States. Nucor Announces $100 Million Steel Production Facility Expansion In Kingman

Arizona Commerce Authority Announces $100 Million In Broadband Grants
